Personal Development at King Edward VI School is a planned programme of learning which aims to develop in students the knowledge, skills and attitudes they will need in order to be able to lead fulfilling lives and to demonstrate principled leadership and active global citizenship.
We are committed to helping students make a strong and positive contribution as individuals, family members and participants in modern British society and beyond.Our overall aims for the Personal Development programme are to provide our students with:
- Opportunities to develop the traits and skills required to become responsible, respectful and active citizens.
- A recognition of inherent human dignity and an appreciation of individual rights and responsibilities
- A deepening understanding of the fundamental British values of democracy, individual liberty, the rule of law, and mutual respect and tolerance.
- Opportunities to develop their character, giving them the qualities they need to flourish in society and reflect wisely, learn eagerly, behave with integrity and cooperate consistently well with others.
